MONDAYS

All Star Drama Club (2nd-6th)

In this class, young performers step into Moonlit Wings' Drama Club! Dive into new lessons every season with fresh scripts of comedy, drama, and hilarious improv games. Sharpen speech, stage presence, and teamwork through theatre. Parents are invited to a mini-performance during the final class. Drama Club is where creative kids make lasting friendships and keep the fun going, season after season!

 

Fall Global Flavors: A World of Fall Delights (K-5th)

Your kids will have a blast cooking up and devouring our exciting, tasty, and healthy recipes. Our interactive classes incorporate S.T.E.A.M., culture, language, and more, led by our experienced Chef Instructors. Allergies are always accommodated and our plant-forward recipes are nut-free. Explore our lineup of ever changing weekly recipes and join us to WHIP up some culinary fun all year! Our cooking classes are perfect for all ages!

 

Sports & Games (K-4th)

Come join the fun and learn the fundamentals of team sports including soccer, basketball, flag football, team handball, kickball, hockey, and volleyball. In addition to playing the sports listed, we will play various games such as scramble, friendship tag, pin dodge, battleship, Star wars, steal the bacon, monster ball, capture the flag, sharks and minnows, catch-up, mat ball and more. Children can release some energy, get some exercise, learn new sports and games, and socialize with other children. Values such as sportsmanship, teamwork, sharing, and consideration of others will be stressed.

 

Flag Football (3rd-6th)

Come out and enjoy fun-filled non-contact flag football. Improve your football skills such as passing, running, catching, punting and kicking. Emphasis will include skill development, team work, and sportsmanship by playing intramural style flag football and related games. Small sided games will be played as needed to ensure maximum participation by each child.


TUESDAYS

Soccer (K-3rd)

Tie up those laces! Learn the skills of soccer thru drills, games and scrimmages. Improve your game while having fun! Play Endline Soccer, Dribbling Knockout, Sharks and Minnows, World Cup, and more! We stress sportsmanship, fitness, teamwork, safety and FUN.

 

Advanced Basketball (3rd-6th)

Tie up those laces and come ready to play! Weekly tournaments including 1 on 1, 3v3, 5v5, hot shot tournaments, foul shooting competitions and more.

 

Canvas and Clay (K-6th)

Creating with clay and painting on canvas- it just doesn’t get any better than that! In this class, your child will get to experiment with many different types of art while learning simple step-by-step painting and clay techniques. They will make 3D bears, owls that glow-in-the-dark, a scratch board painting of a cat and so much more! What a great way for your child to explore the incredible world of art.

 

Intro to Bird Watching (K-5th)

This class will introduce children to how to learn about birds in the WMES schoolyard as well as in their own backyards and neighborhoods. We will use binoculars, guide books, and Internet resources in each class in a mix of indoor 'class' and outdoor 'field trip' as we learn ID techniques, seasonal variations on what birds can be seen, and how to record our observations as we become 'citizen scientists.' Note: No equipment necessary, anyone interested in purchasing their child binoculars is encouraged to reach out to the instructor for recommendations.

 

Pickleball (2nd-6th)

Come play Pickleball, the fastest-growing sport! Pickleball is a tennis/ping pong/badminton type of game.  It’s played indoors and outside (we will be indoors) on a small tennis-type court.  Learn the rules of the game including scoring, dinks, allowed serving techniques, the “kitchen” dos and don’ts, and more.  It’s an easy sport to pick up and can be enjoyed by the whole family.  We will play doubles and singles and learn the sport through easy drills and related pickleball games. Kids will get a great workout while having loads of fun.  It’s easy to learn, and a very social sport.  Equipment (including paddles, balls, and nets) will be provided by Sports and Games for Kids, LLC.

 

Tumbling (K-6th)

Tumbling will introduce students to the beginnings and basics of all gymnastic skills, including an introduction to form in more advanced tumbling as well as work on flexibility. Students will learn forward and backward rolls, cartwheels, round offs, handstands, bridge kick overs and front walk overs.


WEDNESDAYS

Skills & Creativity with LEGO Bricks: Exploring Space (K-6th)

Explore constructs you might find in space. Focus on what is in space or navigating through space. Build planets, stars, rockets, the International Space Station, Land Rovers or imagine your own space vehicle with LEGO bricks. Create what you know or imagine what is yet to be discovered.

 

Lego WeDo 2.0: Zooland Robotics (2nd-6th)

Come explore the wild world of Lego WeDo 2.0: Zooland! In this course, children will have the opportunity to bring their favorite animals to life through hands-on projects using the Lego WeDo 2.0 kit. From jungle beasts to sea creatures, children will be able to create a variety of animal-themed robots using their creativity and problem-solving skills. As they work on their projects, children will learn about the functions of various robotic components such as motors, hubs, and sensors. With a range of project ideas and lesson plans to choose from, students will have the chance to discover the wonders of Lego WeDo 2.0: Zooland. Join us for this exciting adventure in the world of robotics!

 

Little Inventors (K-3rd)

Are you ready to innovate? Get your creative juices flowing in this project-based program, where you will identify the need for an invention, think on your feet, and create real structures and solutions. Students also learn about famous inventors and internalize how recent innovations improve our lives.

 

Ballet/Tap Combo (K-4th)

Children develop lovely technical ballet skills while learning French vocabulary, enhancing their artistic growth, and nurturing poise, grace, and musicality. Young dancers will also learn basic tap technique using fun Broadway-style songs and tap routines showcasing their fantastic stage presence.

 

Floor Hockey (K-6th)

Floor hockey is an action packed game where boys and girls move constantly. Kids will learn the basics of hockey in a safe, age appropriate environment and will learn to compete as a team with high effort and sportsmanship in each session. Each day will end with full games, but will begin with lead-up games and skill building to help them hone skills that translate across all sports.

 

Science: Funky Forces (K-5th)
Through the course of Funky Forces and more, children will play engineer, chemist-and stunt pilot! Children will investigate physics fundamentals and bring their scientific minds to basic magic tricks. Your Mad Scientists will be shocked by what they learn about electricity, blown away by their experiments with air pressure, and swept away by the excitement of working with waves!

THURSDAYS

Basketball (K-3rd)

This popular program focuses on the fundamentals of basketball through skill-building drills and games. Basics of basketball will be introduced to those new to basketball while those with experience will expand their knowledge. We will play small sided games along with fun skill development games. It's A great way to improve your basketball skills, get some exercise, learn about teamwork and play a lot of basketball!

 

Fun Runners (1st-6th)

Get your kids running and moving with our Track and Field Program (or use it to cross train for your favorite sport)! Our focus is to “have fun and run” via games, relays, obstacle courses and group activities. Kids will work to understand the basics of running such as pace, equipment/gear, hydration and fuel. The goal of the program is to prepare and participate in a 5K/1K event on the last day of class, all the while focusing on individual progress and improvement; and throwing in a lot of fun. We set up a course with water stations and end with a typical 5K snack. This class offers the option to meet, either once or twice a week, and will include some practice 5Ks.

 

Chess (K-6th) AM

Learn chess with Magnus Academy (formerly Silver Knights), world champion Magnus Carlsen’s academy!  We’ve taught 100,000 children to play including state and national champions, but most students are beginners looking to learn a new skill and have FUN. Class time is divided between lessons and practice games.  Lessons range from the basic rules to advanced tournament strategies.

Students will have the opportunity to play in tournaments (in-person and online) outside of club time.  This in-person club includes free online extras including weekly practice tournaments and an event with world champion Magnus Carlsen or Judit Polgar, the best female chess player of all time.  All chess supplies provided. LEGO® SPIKE™ Essential Robotics (K-6th)

Get ready for a fun, hands-on experience with Lego SPIKE Robotics! In this course, children will have the chance to unleash their creativity and bring their STEAM ideas to life through hands-on projects using everyday themes. By combining the use of Lego bricks, a multi-port Hub, and programming with Scratch, children of all learning levels will have the opportunity to build and code their very own robots. With the use of the latest codable hubs, cameras, motion sensors, tilting sensors, poles and axles, children will be able to create robots that dance, mimic, follow routes, and even drive themselves. Each lesson will focus on building a robot that serves a practical purpose in daily life, while also developing crucial skills such as literacy, math, and coding skills.

 

Masters of Impressionism! (1st-6th)

Join us this Fall as we explore the exciting world of Impressionism! Learn about how these famous artists changed the world of art using their imaginations and explosions of color. In this class you’ll create pinch pots, coil pots and slab hand built pottery from start to finish. You’ll even get a chance to glaze your own pottery. Our materials are professional grade stoneware and get fired in our kiln making the pieces both beautiful and functional! Ready to explore? Come on and let’s get muddy! 

 

Cheerleading (K-6th)

Rah! Rah! Rah! For anyone who wants to join a cheer squad, or who just wants to have fun! Our cheerleading classes will introduce students to beginning skills required by cheer teams. Cheerleading skills are taught including cheers, motions technique, chants, drills, stretches, jumps and a high-energy cheer dance routine. Your cheerleader will also participate in bonding cheer games.


FRIDAYS

Science: Potions & Explosions! (K-6th)

Let’s have fun with Chemistry! In this program, we will create “magic” potions and exciting chemical reactions that will blow your mind. Erupt a volcano, make indoor snow, grow crystals, blast a rocket into the air, and more. We will learn about the states of matter and how things change with mixtures, solutions and chemical reactions. Join us to channel your inner Professor Snape!

 

Minecraft Modding (1st-3rd)

Software: MCreator

Skill Level: Beg.-Int.

In this class, students will learn how to create their own custom gameplay items and elements using MCreator and Minecraft. Students will learn how to create artwork for various items, and implement them into the game with custom behaviors. Design your own custom blocks, weapons, food, biomes and more! Does your child spend hours at a time playing Minecraft? Have them learn how to improve their gameplay experience, and create your own custom mods to take home today!

 

Story Book Ballet (K-6th)

This ballet class will expose your little dancer to many of the classical ballet stories such as Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella and The Nutcracker through literature, storytelling and music. Basic ballet concepts will be introduced to lay a positive technical foundation (e.g., positions, plies, etc.). Students will enjoy being exposed to real ballet stories to create a love for this classical art form!

 

Young Musketeers Fencing & Robin Hoods Archery (2nd-6th)

Young Musketeers introduces kids (beginners & returning) to fencing!

These one-hour classes focus on:

• Essential skills: Footwork, bladework, strategy, and fencing rules.

• Fun drills & games: Learn fencing basics in a fun, engaging way.

• Coordination & fitness: Build speed, endurance, and critical thinking.

• All in a safe environment with age-appropriate equipment.

Bonus! After 4 weeks, transition to Young Robin Hood’s Archery!

Young Robin Hoods (Archery): Hit the Target Like a Hero!

• Become a master archer like Robin Hood! Learn archery basics in a safe, fun program. Use kid-friendly bows and soft-tipped arrows to hit the target and build skills. Be a hero, have a blast!
