MONDAYS

Minecraft Creative Adventures (K-3rd)

Minecraft: Creative Adventures is a course designed to help children tap into their creativity and problem-solving skills through the popular video game, Minecraft. In this course, children will have the opportunity to explore the vast and customizable world of Minecraft, using their imaginations to build and design their own structures, landscapes, and more. Along the way, they'll also have the chance to collaborate with their classmates and share ideas as they work together to bring their creative projects to life. By working together and sharing their thoughts and ideas, children will learn about the value of collaboration and the power of teamwork. This is a fantastic opportunity for children to learn and grow while having fun in the process!

 

Flag Football (3rd-6th)

Come out and enjoy fun-filled non-contact flag football. Improve your football skills such as passing, running, catching, punting and kicking. Emphasis will include skill development, team work, and sportsmanship by playing intramural style flag football and related games. Small sided games will be played as needed to ensure maximum participation by each child.

 

Broadway Bound (2nd-6th)

In this class, young performers discover the world of musical theater! Each semester features a variety of scenes and songs from hit musicals, along with character creation and improv. Participants will enhance their singing, acting, and storytelling skills while exploring different characters and styles. Through collaboration and creativity, students will build confidence on stage and discover the magic of bringing stories to life. Parents are invited to join us for a mini-performance during the final class.

 

Sports & Games  (K-4th)

Come join the fun and learn the fundamentals of team sports including soccer, basketball, flag football, team handball, kickball, hockey, and volleyball. In addition to playing the sports listed, we will play various games such as scramble, friendship tag, pin dodge, battleship, Star wars, steal the bacon, monster ball, capture the flag, sharks and minnows, catch-up, mat ball and more. Children can release some energy, get some exercise, learn new sports and games, and socialize with other children. Values such as sportsmanship, teamwork, sharing, and consideration of others will be stressed.



TUESDAYS

Advanced Basketball (3rd-6th)

Tie up those laces and come ready to play! Weekly tournaments including 1 on 1, 3v3, 5v5, hot shot tournaments, foul shooting competitions and more.

 

Bakers & Makers (K-6th)

Bakers and Makers is a class for those that like to create! The sessions will teach your children the basics in sewing, baking, and creating home crafts, and students will be able to taste or take home their own creations. They will build or bake, draw or make and let their imagination soar in these hour-long sessions.

 

Intro to Bird Watching  (K-5th)

This class will introduce children to how to learn about birds in the WMES schoolyard as well as in their own backyards and neighborhoods. We will use binoculars, guide books, and Internet resources in each class in a mix of indoor 'class' and outdoor 'field trip' as we learn ID techniques, seasonal variations on what birds can be seen, and how to record our observations as we become 'citizen scientists.' Note: No equipment necessary, anyone interested in purchasing their child binoculars is encouraged to reach out to the instructor for recommendations.

 

Tumbling / Gymnastics (K-6th)

Tumbling will introduce students to the beginnings and basics of all gymnastic skills, including an introduction to form in more advanced tumbling as well as work on flexibility. Students will learn forward and backward rolls, cartwheels, round offs, handstands, bridge kick overs and front walkovers.

 

Pickleball (2nd-6th)

Come play Pickleball, the fastest-growing sport! Pickleball is a tennis/ping pong/badminton type of game.  It’s played indoors and outside (we will be indoors) on a small tennis-type court.  Learn the rules of the game including scoring, dinks, allowed serving techniques, the “kitchen” dos and don’ts, and more.  It’s an easy sport to pick up and can be enjoyed by the whole family.  We will play doubles and singles and learn the sport through easy drills and related pickleball games. Kids will get a great workout while having loads of fun.  It’s easy to learn, and a very social sport.  Equipment (including paddles, balls, and nets) will be provided by Sports and Games for Kids, LLC.



WEDNESDAYS

Creative Engineering using LEGO Bricks: The Louvre, Famous Houses & More (K-6th)

Discover more fabulous structures around the world. This class will explore treasures here in the US as well as all over the globe. Construct the Statue of Liberty. Craft the Awakening Sculpture. Design your own version of Falling Water. Fashion the pyramid of the Louvre. The challenges in this class lead to inspirational building. Meet the challenges presented each week with LEGO® bricks while placing your own creative stamp on them.

 

Creative Art - Game On!  (K-5th)

Take a break and go “AFK” (away from keyboard) while exploring your favorite games in a brand new way!  In this class, we’ll draw, sculpt, paint, and more as we create projects inspired by some of our favorite video games.  Design your own avatar on a real canvas board, sculpt your favorite Among Us Crewmate, create Sonic the Hedgehog and so much more!  This camp covers some of the hottest new games plus awesome throwback classics, too.  Come get your game on! 

 

Lego: Superheroes (K-6th)

To the Batcave, superhero fans! Design your own superhero, create your own adventure, and build epic battle scenes using LEGO® bricks. Have a blast as you create your own fantasy world of superheroes and supervillains, straight out of the pages of DC and Marvel comic books. You might even unleash some of your own superpowers!

 

Cheerleading  (K-6th)

Rah! Rah! Rah! For anyone who wants to join a cheer squad, or who just wants to have fun! Our cheerleading classes will introduce students to beginning skills required by cheer teams. Cheerleading skills are taught including cheers, motions technique, chants, drills, stretches, jumps and a high-energy cheer dance routine. Your cheerleader will also participate in bonding cheer games.



THURSDAYS

Chess  (K-6th)

Learn chess with Magnus Academy (formerly Silver Knights), world champion Magnus Carlsen’s academy!  We’ve taught 100,000 children to play including state and national champions, but most students are beginners looking to learn a new skill and have FUN. Class time is divided between lessons and practice games.  Lessons range from the basic rules to advanced tournament strategies.

 

Students will have the opportunity to play in tournaments (in-person and online) outside of club time.  This in-person club includes free online extras including weekly practice tournaments and an event with world champion Magnus Carlsen or Judit Polgar, the best female chess player of all time.  All chess supplies provided. Fun Runners (1st-6th)

Get your kids running and moving with our Track and Field Program (or use it to cross train for your favorite sport)! Our focus is to “have fun and run” via games, relays, obstacle courses and group activities. Kids will work to understand the basics of running such as pace, equipment/gear, hydration and fuel. The goal of the program is to prepare and participate in a 5K/1K event on the last day of class, all the while focusing on individual progress and improvement; and throwing in a lot of fun. We set up a course with water stations and end with a typical 5K snack. This class offers the option to meet, either once or twice a week, and will include some practice 5Ks.

 

Chess Club and Team (K-6th)

We’re taking the chess club to the next level!  Students now have the option to do Chess Club or Chess Club and Team.  During Chess Club, time is divided between lessons and practice games. Lessons range from the basic rules to advanced strategies. During the second Team hour there's a focus on preparing students for tournaments, solving puzzles, and playing tournament style games. All chess supplies provided. All students receive a ChessKid Gold Membership with the program.

 

 

The Chess Club and Team option will meet 1-day a week for 2 hours.

 

Basketball (K-4th)

This popular program focuses on the fundamentals of basketball through skill-building drills and games. Basics of basketball will be introduced to those new to basketball while those with experience will expand their knowledge. We will play small sided games along with fun skill development games. It's A great way to improve your basketball skills, get some exercise, learn about teamwork and play a lot of basketball!

 

Hip Hop All Stars (1st-6th)

Our ADF hip hop dancers will learn the latest street dancing technique, performance skills and confidence. Hip Hop is an ever-evolving style performed to current hip hop music. The Adrenaline Dance Force classes offer the ability to improve hip hop style, increase memory and improve balance by staying grounded and strong through upper and lower body movement. Adrenaline’s experienced staff brings excitement to this class with the latest hip hop moves and age-appropriate music!


 


FRIDAYS

Hungry Hungry Science  (K-6th)

Need some science to sink your teeth into? In Hungry Hungry Science we will explore different scientific concepts using food as our main vehicle for experimentation. We will not only use ingredients to explain different ideas through simple recipes, but make edible experiments as well to learn about reactions, acids & basis, biology, nutrition and more! If you haven’t had your fill of science fun, come fill your bellies in Hungry Hungry Science.

 

Cooking: Breakfast Club (K-6th)

In this session, the kids will get to learn all sorts of breakfast treats, ranging from super simple, to a delicious meal to get excited over! They will be breakfast champions by the end, being able to crack eggs without a second thought and how to be a baking pro. 

 

Minecraft Animation (3rd-6th)

Software: Mine-mator 

Skill Level: Beg.

In this class, older students will be introduced to basic 2D and 3D animation techniques using Minecraft characters and stages. Kids will expand their observation skills and imagination by studying motion in reality and how it influences motion in animation. Older students learn about advanced tools and techniques. Students will learn how animators work by completing a variety of short animation exercises and projects and applying basic acting theories and animation principles to scenes they create. Love the Ball Soccer Academy (K-5th)

Our Soccer Academy is based on training methods and techniques from professional academies in the United Kingdom. Every player will have their own ball for the majority of the session as we work on drills moves and skills. Sessions will always finish with small sided scrimmages such as 1v1's or 2v2's to put into practice the games and drills that have been worked on throughout the session.
